Press release -Amsterdam

Tony's Factory B.V., the company behind the chocolate brand Tony's Chocolonely, which strives for a 100% slave-free cocoa industry, is investigating the possibilities of entering the Amsterdam Stock Exchange. The company has appointed a team of advisors to guide Tony's Chocolonely into the next phase, which aims to accelerate the achievement of its mission.

About Tony's Chocolonely

Tony's Chocolonely wants to make chocolate 100% slave-free. Not just their own chocolate, but all chocolate worldwide. So not an average company. But a chocolate company that wants to solve a social problem in the world. Tony's Chocolonely was founded in 2005 by journalists from the Keuringsdienst van Waarde when they discovered that the largest chocolate companies in the world were processing cocoa from plantations where child slaves may have worked. Since then, the Amsterdam social enterprise has grown into the second largest chocolate brand in the Netherlands. Tony's Chocolonely wants to make people aware of the inequality in the chocolate industry, set an example that chocolate making can be done differently and thus inspire the chocolate industry to work together to make 100% slave-free chocolate the norm.

It chocolate brand Tony's Chocolonely was introduced to the Dutch market 12 years ago, and has seen its turnover increase further than 20 times since 2011. Tony's Chocolonely is now sold in 7 countries and in 16 flavors in the permanent range. Henk Jan Beltman, Chief Chocolate Officer of Tony's Chocolonely explains: “Since the start of Tony's Chocolonely, we have been successful in winning the hearts of consumers with high-quality chocolate, showing that chocolate making can be done differently by working directly with cocoa farmers. . We are proud of that, but it does not yet bring us close enough to our ultimate goal; making the cocoa industry slave-free."

Tony's Chocolonely has built up an impressive track record as a credible brand with great potential, with growth of more than 50% per year. "We now want to capitalize on this. Without wanting to make any concessions to what Tony's Chocolonely stands for, I am convinced that we can use the capital market to take the next step towards realizing our mission.”
