HEMA becomes mission partner in Tony's Open Chain and will eventually purchase all their cocoa through our chain and according to Tony's 5 cooperation principles. Tony's Open Chain is an initiative of Tony's that invites other chocolate brands to join our mission and together make the industry slave-free.
This means, among other things, that HEMA-affiliated cocoa farmers in Ghana and Côte d'Ivoire will pay the price for a living income for their 100% traceable beans. Yep, two Dutch brands joining forces to end exploitation and deforestation in the cocoa industry. Real HEMA will soon also be honest and responsibly produced chocolate. Very happy with it!
On the shelves from next year
The first chocolate products made from Tony's Open Chain cocoa will be on the shelves at HEMA in the course of next year. And more and more products are being added, so that all HEMA chocolate will soon be purchased in a fair and sustainable manner according to Tony's 5 cooperation principles.
